The Weaponization of America’s health care industry: phase one
the NHIN
The Nationwide (National) Health Intelligence (Information) Network (NHIN) is directly linked to Senate Bill 1693 (sponsored by Senators Clinton and Kennedy). There is an overlay of military culture and intelligence terminology associated with the NHIN project to support the use of the network for military capabilities (martial law).
The core justification for public support of the NHIN is to track and monitor the perceived threat of a world wide pandemic brought on by a super flu. Therefore, the public must be kept in a state of fear concerns the possible outbreak of a super-flu.
This has lead to the public display of pandemic military-style causality exercises to test the preparedness of the local health care community. Usually these medical exercises are largely seen as weak and amateurish which do not cause any great alarm amongst the community of medical professionals.
Meanwhile, the stated goal of the NHIN in 2008 is the establishment of a “network of electronic systems at the state level for credentialing health care providers” which can be used to “share provider information across jurisdictions in an emergency” (see Situational Awareness: Surveillance, Credentialing and Telehealth Report). Interesting that “credential sharing” is the first goal of the network.
Translated, medical provider credentials will be available to this national “network of networks” in support of multi-jurisdictional emergencies. However, as the grim events of 9/11 WTC point out, mutual aid compacts amongst the states already provide for the cross border recognition of sister state credentials (physicians, nurses, paramedics). Therefore, the need to exchange credentialing information is a dubious justification.
Some observers believe that the credential
sharing capabilities of the NHIN are necessary to deputize medical personnel
to involuntarily serve in quarantine detention centers if, and when, martial
law is declared during a pandemic scare. Therefore, medical personnel in a state
could be involuntarily deputized and compelled to serve at a quarantine center
in a distant state under a federalized emergency.
Most Americans do not realize that the disaster quarantine camps established by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) are shrouded in secrecy. In fact, photography is strictly forbidden of such camps, even the FEMA camps for Katrina victims.
One wonders what the real purpose of the NHIN could be, as such a system is designed for medical surveillance of the population to identify subjects to be quarantined in such FEMA camps.
